Why stay at a B&B?
The Bed and Breakfast, commonly known
as "B&B", is the oldest form of accommodation known.
In days past, travel was not as organized as it is
today. Nonetheless, for those few that found themselves
in different surroundings, they often relied on regular
families to let them a room and provide the first meal
of the day. The voyager enjoyed the benefits of comfort,
security and the extensive information that only locals
could provide.
Through the years, as more people
traveled, hotels and motels became the standard. They
were efficient, full service sites that were, and are,
standardized so that guests could expect the same
quality worldwide. By no means do B&Bs presume to
compete with hotels and motels. B&Bs are as
different as the expectations or individual
travelers.
Although the mass standardization of
hotel and motel travel meets travelers' needs, the fact
that thousands of people use hotel/motel facilities
leaves the guest feeling very anonymous. The Bed and
Breakfast excels at providing warm and personal
hospitality. You have a name, a biographical history, a
desire to know more about the area you want to visit,
you need unique information, you want individual
attention, conversation, the feeling of warmth and
welcome. There are times when one travels for business
and times when one travels for relaxation and/or to seek
new knowledge about and stimulating experiences in
various areas.
Given the more personal nature of the
B&B experience, those who have not previously stayed
at a B&B may want to have some idea of what they
might experience. We urge you to treat yourself to the
Bed and Breakfast experience. This site is a guide about
what to generally expect from a Bed and Breakfast. We
hope it is sufficiently informative so that you will
feel confident about experiencing the oldest and most
treasured way of traveling, learning and interacting
with others.
We wish you a pleasant
stay! |
